MONITORING PH TANAH BERBASIS IoT PADA PERTANIAN CERDAS PEMBIBITAN TANAMAN ANGGUR MERAH DI DESA KATONSARI DEMAK
Abstract
The development of the Internet of Things (IoT) has encouraged the adoption of smart farming to improve agricultural management. In Red Globe grape seedling cultivation in Katonsari Village, Demak, as in many agricultural areas, soil pH and soil moisture are essential parameters that influence nutrient availability, root development, and seedling quality. However, these parameters are still commonly monitored manually, making the process inefficient, time-consuming, labor-intensive, and unable to provide continuous real-time information. This work aims to implement an IoT-based soil pH and soil moisture monitoring system using the ESP32 microcontroller. The system was developed using the Waterfall methodology, which consists of requirements analysis, system design, hardware and software implementation, system testing using the black-box testing method, and system evaluation. The proposed system integrates a soil pH sensor and a YL-69 soil moisture sensor as data acquisition devices, a 16×4 I2C LCD for local data display, and the Blynk application for remote monitoring through a Wi-Fi network. Experimental results show that the soil pH sensor achieved a maximum measurement error of 2.5% compared with the reference instrument, while the soil moisture sensor successfully distinguished dry normal, and wet soil conditions with readings of 13%, 45%, and 90%, respectively. Furthermore, the system successfully operated by displaying monitoring data in real time on both the LCD and the Blynk application.
