Karakteristik Perilaku Perjalanan Pelajar Sekolah Menengah Atas Swasta di Kota Bandar Lampung

Abstract

Bandar Lampung is a developing city, thus this development is also accompanied by the development of population mobility. High mobility can cause transportation problems. Allegedly the journey of students cause of traffic congestion in Bandar Lampung, especially in the morning and in the afternoon. Traffic congestion can be seen from the conditions of travel in the school which is filled with private vehicles. Related to this matter, it is necessary to study how big the contribution of student’s trip to travel behavior in Bandar Lampung. The purpose of this research is to know the potential of the trip generation of private high school students in Bandar Lampung and the factors that influence the trip generation using cross tabulation method.

The results of the study show that the potential of movement caused by the average student activity per day is 2.66 trips for high schools which have not conducted full day school program, while there are 2.44 trips for high school which have conducted full day school program. Factors that affect the trip generation include learning activity, guidance / tutoring, shopping, going lunch, playing sports, hanging out, and others.
